Introductions

I hope you will have fun with the first blog commenting assignment of the semester! This assignment will be available starting on Tuesday of Week 3, after everybody has had a chance to finish up their Week 1 Introductions.

Each week the blog comment assignment consists of four comments. This week, you will be commenting on the Week 1 Introductions of FOUR different people.
To find out which people you should comment on, use the randomizer below; every time you reload the page you will see a name at random, with a link to the person’s blog. Click to read their Introduction post and leave a comment. Then repeat until you have commented on four different people at random

Blogger Comments. You will find detailed instructions here for leaving comments on Blogger blogs, along with tips for how to read the comments you get at your blog: Leaving Comments – Viewing Comments.  Some students in the class are using WordPress, but you will see that the process for leaving comments there is basically the same as Blogger.

Names. Getting to know people’s names is hard, especially in an online class. I’d suggest using “Hi Melanie!” or something like that at the start of your comment just so that you can at least try to let the name sink in. 🙂

Replying to comments. If you want to reply to a comment someone left at your blog, the best way to do that is to find the person in the Class Directory and leave a comment on THEIR blog. If you reply to their comment at your blog, they might or might not know about that, but if you leave a comment at their blog, they will get a notification.

Substantial Comments. Each comment should be 60 words minimum, and of course, you can write more.

Problems? If you run into any problems leaving a comment on someone’s blog, just let me know. Send me an email with the person’s blog address tell me what the problem was, and include your comment in the email. That way I can pass the comment along to the person and help them to fix up whatever problem might be keeping people from leaving comments.

Declaration. Here is the Declaration you will complete. And if you want to keep on commenting, you can do the Extra Credit Blog Comments assignment too if you want!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
I have left comments on FOUR different Introduction posts as chosen by the randomizer.
Each of my comments is a MINIMUM of 60 words in length.
