Twitter

We will be using Twitter to connect and promote our work over the semester. There are three different ways you can participate:

Use your existing account. If you already use Twitter, you can use that account for class tweets; just add #dmed2023 to the class tweets to distinguish them from your other tweets.

Create an additional account. If you already use Twitter, you can create a second account for this class (you just need to use a different email account for each Twitter account).

Create a new account. If you don’t use Twitter and want to try it, you can create your own Twitter account to use for class.

Below are instructions for each of those three options, and then in each of the Twitter-related Tech Tips. So, just choose the way that looks best to you now and tweet one thing.

STEP ONE: Log on to Twitter. Choose the option you prefer from the four different options below:

* Use your existing Twitter account. If you already have a Twitter account and don’t mind using it for this class, you are good to go. Just log on and get ready to tweet in Step Two.

* Create your first Twitter account. To create a new Twitter account, go to Twitter.com and follow the instructions provided. Creating an account is very simple; to find out more, visit the Twitter Getting Started page. There are additional tips about getting started here at Twitter Bootcamp.

* Create a second Twitter account. If you have a Twitter account for personal use and want to create a second account for class, you can do that! You need a unique email address for each Twitter account you create.

If you are going to be using two different Twitter accounts, I recommend logging in to the second account using a different browser. That way, you won’t get mixed up about which is which! You can also use an app like Tweetdeck to manage multiple accounts;

STEP TWO: Tweet! When you are logged on at Twitter, you can tweet something (thoughts, a link, an image, a video, whatever you want), and include the #dmed2023 hashtag. If you have room in the tweet, you can also notify me by including my Twitter name: @BigFernsy (the @ indicates a Twitter username or handle, and it sends a notification to the person’s account directly).
